This poster session will describe the multi-phase and multi-level plan developed at William Paterson University, focusing on the decision processes that led to the development of the assessment rubric. It will also describe the methodology used and the plan for closing the loop by determining the most appropriate and effective strategies for ensuring competencies in the four learning literacy competencies.

Student Response System Keypads (Clickers) in the Library Instruction Session - Lynee Richel, County College of Morris
Turning Point, a keypad system and plug-in for Microsoft's Powerpoint presentation software, creates an interactive classroom. This system provides useful and immediate feedback and outcomes assessment data for our one-shot instruction sessions. Instructors may assess student understanding throughout the class and adjust their time and teaching techniques accordingly.

Waste Not, Want Not: Partnering for Resource Waste Reduction at Rider University's Libraries - Patricia H. Dawson, Rider University
The Rider University's Sustainability Steering Committee, Sustainable Rider students, and the Libraries collaborated on reducing wasted resources involving printers. Students created posters to promote the need to reduce use of paper, toner, and cartridges; reinforcement occurs in the classroom where exam questions use statistics on paper use.

The New Jersey NACO Funnel - Mei Ling Chow, Montclair State University; Martha M. Loesch, Seton Hall University; Rhonda J. Marker, Rutgers University
The New Jersey NACO (Name Authority Cooperative Program) Funnel is a group of libraries in New Jersey that have joined together to contribute name authority records to the national authority file. The poster will feature the libraries involved in the program, a typical workflow for submitting a name heading, and examples of names that have been contributed.

Consortium Purchasing, State Wide Licenses, and Unique Decisions: An Evaluation of Database Holdings at New Jersey Community Colleges - Robin Brown, Burlington County College
How do we compare with our peers? That was the initial question. Clearly the impact of VALE is significant. In addition, different colleges list the databases from NJKI and Jersey Clicks in different ways. You may be surprised at the number of unique databases that turned up, i.e. databases held by only one college.

Collaborations in Metadata Creation - Li Sun, Rutgers University
This poster will introduce the collaborative work that has been undertaken in the creation of metadata in our digital efforts at Rutgers. A workflow for automated uploading of metadata elements will be particularly explained.
