IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ATTENDEES ARRIVING BY TRAIN – Rutgers shuttle buses will be running on a weekend schedule during semester break. The A (direcct to Busch Campus) and L (via Livingston Campus) buses will have stops at the New Brunswick train station. The winter bus schedule will be posted on the Rutgers Transportation Services website in mid December and a staff person will be available @ 732-932-4833 to answer calls on actual arrival & departure times. http://parktran.rutgers.edu/campusbuses.shtml

BUSCH CAMPUS PARKING
Parking passes will not be required this year. Attendees may park in lots 51 and 67 with no permit.

Weather Cancellation:
Busch Campus closing cancels the conference. Rutgers puts an announcement about ANY campus closing on its web site. They also make announcements on the radio. The web site with all this information is:

Keynote Address

Alex Wright: The Web That Wasn’t

About the Keynote Speaker

Alex Wright is the Director of User Experience and Product Research at The New York Times and the author of Glut: Mastering Information Through the Ages. He is also a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts MFA program in Interaction Design. Before joining the Times, Alex led research and design projects for IBM, Microsoft, The Long Now Foundation, Harvard University, the Internet Archive, and Yahoo!, among others. He has also contributed articles to The New York Times, Salon.com, The Christian Science Monitor, The Believer, Harvard Magazine, Utne Reader, Yankee, Think, Interactions, Boxes and Arrows, New Architect, WebTechniques, Boston Business, Design Times and Library Journal, among others. Alex holds a B.A. in English and American Literature from Brown University and an M.S. in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. He has also completed graduate coursework in journalism at Harvard, and in usability engineering at UC-Berkeley.
